In my opinion, photography is the discovery and re-presentation of perception. My perception has been tinged by the lifetime accumulation of experiences, including those informative years with my parents, both photographers, who used a “pre-school” me as their photographic fodder. Because of that upbringing, I became accustomed to a camera at a very early age.

I like mystery in a photograph. Mystery is our connection to the sublime. It is the expectation, anticipation, to a person, of something new and unseen, or something old and unexplained. Only with photography do we have those moments made eternal. The presentation of a perception in a hard and fast art medium, and perhaps with a little bit of luck, an indirect experience with the divine.
